Man is made of 72% water and it's no wonder our sea legs are longing to feel the sway of the ocean once again. No better time than a long Thanksgiving break! So if we're lucky enough to find a little internet, we'll keep you posted on our adventures at sea...

Footnotes

Sailing can be a serious detriment to your feet.  It seems that with the exception of Chloe and I, most of the crew members feet took a serious beating on this trip:

Mark had something sharp embed itself into his foot:

Which bruised the center of it up fairly good:

Kathy banged up her big toe somewhere on board the boat:

Which came close to scuffing her cute nail polish:

Though her feet still looked pretty darn good most of the trip:

Keith mangled his toes:

...and fingers too:

Connor limped around after his little stunt on the mast swing.
The inside center of his foot barely turned purple-ish
but he claimed it hurt a lot worse than it looked...

...and sure enough it looked a lot worse
a few days later.

Chloe and I managed to keep our feet in ship shape:

Why all these footnotes?

I usually take a lot of pictures of my feet on vacation.  It's just a kooky thing I do.  Since I'm always the one with the camera I'm hardly ever in any family photos that get slid into albums on placed in a frame.  Just peruse thorough any of our family albums and you'll see plenty of Mark and the kids but rarely me. I've always preferred to be on the other side of the camera anyway, so it's usually fine by me.  The only problem is, I can't prove I've been anywhere or done much of anything.  I've got no pictures to prove it.  So some years ago I remedied the problem by photographing my feet wherever I travel.  The thing about having your feet be in the picture is that you never have to worry if the picture is being taken from your good side, or that you'll end up looking fat, or even worry that your hair is out of place.  Nope, feet just don't care about those things.  They look the same under any condition.  And while my foot photographing seems a little unorthodox, okay maybe even a little weird, it's the only thing I've got to prove I've been blessed to have seen some amazing things.

So even if I've seldom been photographed traveling anywhere, my feet sure have. And on this trip, my feet sure enjoyed themselves...

Watching the clouds go by:

Relaxing on the sand:

Peering off the boat during a long passage:

Catching a cool morning breeze out the hatch window of my cabin.

Enjoying a sunset on my hammock:

Hiking the trails on the island:

Quizzing Connor on his spanish:

Bonding with a starfish:

Hanging out on the trampoline:

Hiding from the sun under a palapa:

Yes indeed, these feet have lived the good life.  Unfortunately for most of the others on board, theirs took a beating.
